Buy or Borrow Mask and Fins to start class?Good Question, I will let students borrow a mask and fins to use during class. However, eventually you will want to purchase your own scuba quality set of mask, fins, snorkel, and wetsuit boots. Use the different gear available and when you are ready to make that purchase, you will have an idea of what to look for and what you like or don't like.

Online or Textbook?Either one is available. Some people like holding a book others do well clicking thru the computer. The online version does have embedded videos and narrated text.

Lake Jocassee, Gray Quarry, Florida Springs for Certification"In the summer, we use Lake Jocassee to complete your 4 open water dives. For most of us, it a close drive and easy to get to. Gray Quarry is in Johnson City TN and does require an entrance fee. We will drive to Gray Quarry to complete your training for an additional charge of $50 per day. Certification requires 2 days. Florida Springs: Once cold weather arrives, I recommend completing your certification dives in the springs of North Florida. Its a weekend trip and is $279 for the trip. As long as you complete all the skills, you will be certified at the end of the weekend. We offer the Florida Springs trip monthly from October thru April.
